Today I had
the most wonderful day in my life so far, I have always dreamt of doing something more and bigger than myself, today I had the opportunity to bring some joy into the lives of some wonderful children, fantasy, dreams and hope is something far away from their daily life.
Together with my fellow students we donated 100.000 VDN each to buy books, pens, teddybears and candy.
Furthermore the danish company LEGO donated 10 kg of lego toys.
We visited a local and poor school 2 hours away from Ho Chi Minh City, we where welcomed with big smiles, and open arms!
As the day went by, we played, danced and sang some Disney songs (I sang let it go and colors of the wind) for them, I have never in my entire life felt so much love gahteret in one place, all though the language barrier is tuff, the respekt and understanding from both parts where not to be misunderstood.
To welcome my and my follow students, the children showed us their skill in karate, singing and drumming, all though some of them are poor and (maybe) unhappy, I have never seen such confidence, this made me think. In Denmark we raise our kids like they where born superstars, only the sky is the limit! But sadly, we see a lot kids growing up with self-esteem problems! I hope that this day will change my way of thinking, living and the increase the desire to become a better human being, in the end thats what really matters!
